Biografia

Nel corso degli anni, Valentina Cura' ha esplorato i piu' svariati rami in campo artistico: dalla moda alla miniatura; dal trucco alla pittura.
Nata a Bologna, vive e lavora nel suo studio-appartamento a Parma, dove sono visibili i suoi lavori.Dopo aver frequentato l'Istituto d'Arte Paolo Toschi di Parma, Valentina si dirige verso il campo della moda e della pubblicita'.Si specializza a Bologna come truccatrice professionista (moda ed effetti speciali) per poi spostarsi a Milano, dove vive per due anni e collabora con una lunga serie di fotografi di moda (oltre ad aver lavorato con la RAI e Mediaset per diverse programmazioni televisive).Sempre a Milano collabora con costumista RAI Paola Ruffini: da qui Valentina sviluppera' uno spiccato interesse verso il "costume designing".Diversi, infatti, saranno gli showrooms milanesi che esporranno i particolarissimi abiti ideati ed eseguiti da Valentina.
Nel 1999 si trasferisce nuovamente a Parma, dove lavorera' nel reparto trucco del celebre Teatro Regio.Dopo due splendide stagioni consecutive nello stesso teatro, decide ancora una volta di cambiare direzione e di usare altri mezzi di espressione artistica.Uno di questi sara' la box-art, ovvero la dettagliatissima creazione di oggetti in miniatura.Le sue abilita' manuali la ripagano: i suoi manufatti verranno esposti in una delle botteghe durante il rinomato Festival dei Girovaghi nel suggestivo paese medievale di Compiano.
Nel 2002 si sposta a New York, dove vive per quasi due anni.Dopo questa parentesi (durante la quale pratica nuovamente la professione di truccatrice nella televisione nazionale tedesca) decide di focalizzarsi sul disegno e la pittura. Questi due canali sono attualmente il centro del suo percorso artistico.Valentina usa diverse tecniche dall'acrilico alla tempera, dalla china al pastello.


Biography

Over the years, Valentina Curà had explored the most different branches in arts: from fashion to miniature, from make up to painting.

Born in Bologna, she lives and works out in her downtown Parma apartment /studio where her artworks can be seen. After attending the Institute of Visual Arts (Istituto d'Arte Paolo Toschi) in the same city, Valentina dived in to fashion and commercials. She furthered her knowledge as a make up artist in Bologna by attending Senlui Institute. She then moved to Milan , where she lived for two years while collaborating with several fashion photographers as well as working on RAI and Mediaset Television. In parallel she co-produced along with costume Designer Paola Ruffini: from this point on, Valentina, developed a very particular interest toward costume desining. As a result, several of Milan showrooms featured her very special creations, which were designed and executed by Valentina herself.

In 1999 returned to Parma where she contributed her talents as a Make Up Artist at the famous Regio Theater, for two splendid Opera Seasons . Soon after, she again chose to change her artistic way of expression to venture into a new one, starting from Box-Art, which consists of very detailed creations of miniatures. Her hand-crafted pieces first unveiled during the event "Le Antiche Botteghe" in the medieval town of Compiano.

In 2002 she moved to New York, where she lived for almost two years and worked as a Make Up Artist for the National German Television. Following this American parenthesis she then decided to focus on drawing and painting, which to this day remain her foremost means of expression.
Valentina uses different techniques from acrylic to distemper, from ink to pastel.
